Wishful Thinking

I haven't taken a vacation all year. I mean an actual one where I'm not taking my pets to the vet, standing in line at the DHS, or catching up on yard work. I mean a real vacation where I'm not doing some sort of chore. Anyway, I took a micro vacation this morning by drawing what I would like to be doing. Here is what I came up with:
I definitely want to go somewhere where I can wear something that I can feel vitamin D on my skin. It's a good feeling. Somewhere with heat and water both.I want to sip something icy and cold so I feel cool on the inside, while the sun warms me on the outside. Ahhhh.

Also SHAME ON ME for not drawing enough. Drawing is just as important as brushing your teeth and exercise. Should do it everyday!

Until Later,

Agent textured

I'm the busiest person in the world right now. working a full time job during the day and part time in the evenings and weekends. (Still maintaining my strict workout regimen tho!) But I can't seem to update the blog often. I really wanted Agent to have better lighting and rendering b4 I showed this but I just don't have the time right now. Hopefully you'll still think she's cute.

15 Minute Drawings at the USAA

After doing conte for many months, my recent return to china marker is feeling really good. I really miss that gliding, smooth feeling! I think I'm looser too. The conte stiffens me up. I don't know why! Crazy mental block.

Sketchbook - Capital of Texas Zoo

Living in the country, there are not many places I can go to conveniently. No grocery store closeby, no mall, no restaurants. What IS conveniently close to me though is the Capital of Texas Zoo. Thank heavens I don't have to travel very far to study and draw animals. Because it's close, I don't feel compelled to spend all day there to make the trip worth while. Zoo drawing can be exhausting, with the heat, crowds, and the general humbling experience of drawing animals. These sketches are the result of a modest 3 hour visit to the zoo.
the ring tailed lemurs were too fast. A great exercise in gesture.
There was a kid at the zoo rapping his ABCs at some birds next to the lion's cage. The lion's face looked like he was really annoyed. The kid was hilarious. He was acting like he was the ultimate bad-ass because he can rap his ABCs.

Until next time,
