Illustration Friday - Puzzled

Today I decided to get back on the Illustration Friday bandwagon. Here's my illustration :)
I'm really curious about a book called "Imagine: How Creativity Works". The author was interviewed on TV lately and he said that 40% of creative people are depressed. Artist readers, are you depressed??? I hope you fall under the 60% category who are not depressed. Life's too short to be depressed!

My girlfriend was telling me about that book, and I looked into their advertising video. It seems more like a book that talks about how the brain works and less about how to actually be more creative. That's just my opinion based on watching their own promotional video, so I might be totally wrong. Anyway, I really applaud your daily drawing efforts! And no, I am not depressed, at least I don't think so, but would it help me be more creative if I was? It's often said that great art comes from great pain. Just food for thought. I agree with you, though - life's too short!

Beautiful sketch, I love your style! Depressed? Hmm, not really, unless you count the temporary kind. (Like how I feel having to leave for work now!)

Really great character! Welcome back on the bandwagon! Have to say, my depression is only of the temporary kind, too, and I am NEVER depressed when I'm creating!!

Depressed people wouldn't have the energy to blog a lot or do much artwork. When you're truly depressed you don't want to do anything, you're hiding at home with the curtains drawn. So this may not be the proper audience to post that question.

I also think that most people are ashamed that they might get depressed from time to time so won't admit it.
Fact is,an artist who isn't sensitive and affected by their world will not have much to offer creatively. Their art will be cold and uninteresting.

Great artwork! How long does something like this usually take you to create? Just curious.
