Drink and Draw with the Lovely Ginger Snaps and Blue Magnolia

Went to Mr Tramps to draw two burlesque performers. They add a lot of sass to the poses, which is different from your ordinary figure sessions.
Thanks to the ladies for a job well done!

This is Blue Magnolia:

Ginger did amazing with the 1-minute gestures!
I had fun at the Drink-and-Draw! I look forward to attending more of these sessions :)

Figure Drawing

OMG readers, what a long day. Woke up at 7, read a few chapters of Imagine, by John Lehrer, ran to the zoo, drew, hauled my butt to work, worked, ran to figure drawing, drew, crawled home, worked out (My biceps are so tired I could hardly shampoo my hair), and now i'm updating my blog. What a long day. Feels awesome to get a lot accomplished. :)

Until next time!

Zoo Day, more Figure Practice, and Flight VS Art, what would you decide?

went to the zoo today. I love drawing animals.

My coworker Adam asked me if I would trade art for flight (like superman). After spending time practicing today, I decided that I would still rather do art. Earning something feels better than being handed something I think. Being an artist in the games industry is definitely hard-earned. Competition is rampant and fierce, and McArtSchools are graduating hoards of hopefuls every semester. Psychologically, it feels fantastic that I made the cut! It makes me feel special, especially that I'm a female in a male dominated industry no less. Plus, art is about possibilities, flight is just a way to get around. If I were a bird, I would trade flying for the ability to create. There is no question in my mind.

Until next time!

Bunch of Figure Drawings

I paid off my car recently :) :) :), and instead of saving that money like a good girl should, I decided to put the money into my figure drawing budget. I'm thinking of it as an investment in myself. The better I can draw, hopefully the more valuable I can be to the company I work for now, and of course to whoever I work for later on in life. Yup, so I've been hiring me some models lately. They're not cheap,  but I would pay anything to be a better artist! I'd cut off my adorable little pinky toe. (Just give me a belt to gnaw on, and some hard liquid courage ((alkey-hol))).
